You decide for yourself- but I’ve decided to be a bit more selective about which groups suck me in to their “information sharing.”
Some forums I have a soft spot for, and some I just want to grab and shake by their lapels, but all have good and bad sides…and all tend to suck hours away
Here’s to selectivity!
Not to mention there are some with mods that are obviously jealous of your success and have to destroy the forums by stomping around like little tyrants!
You should be proud of what you have accomplished, when others insist on throwing their tiny little bit of weight around – because they can – screw ’em.
Many are quiet and make no waves, but be aware that they see what happens, and they are embarrassed for egotistical moderators who operate on little, or no, self-esteem.
You’re leaving a stifling forum behind and heading straight upwards. Long after your name is well known in the freelancing world, the petty tyrants will still be ruling their little forums as if it makes them someone.
Wow. At the risk of being accused of being well, you, I thank you for echoing my thoughts.
Your interpretation was the same as mine, as far as motivations, although I was feeling a little too nice to call it by it’s name 🙂
You’re not the only one who has said as much, so I am feeling a bit more understanding of the situation.
Unless portions have been deleted, I know that my words speak for themselves.
It all honestly, I was *there* that often, but I do need to reduce my chatting. If I have free time during my work day, I should spend it networking with my clients, not my competitors.
oops supposed to say “wasn’t there that often” … Back to work now!
Ditto, ditto, ditto what “anonymous” said. (But why the need for “anonymous?”)Opps – maybe Nurse Ratchet of the forums is watching! I for one am insanely jealous of you – more because I’m twice your age, but that is another lament. Yes, my dear little sister, you will go far and they won’t. You’ve outgrown them anyway. So there!
Sharon, I (heart) <3 you. But please don't be jealous of me. I think I am just blessed, so it's not *me* that there is to be jealous of!
Jealousy is obviously what got you tried and convicted without a trial in the first place!
Selectivity is KEY 🙂
Nice blog, thanks for sharing.
