• APRIL Free Book Giveaway

I’ve ended up with an extra copy of Kate Lister’s “Undress for Success: The Naked Truth About Making Money at Home.”

When Kate first interviewed me for this book, I was excited and told my friend (and sometime proofreader and translator). At first she wasn’t sure what the book was about (Undress for Success? huh?) and wondered what I’d gotten myself into!

Although I’ve never undressed, per se, I am definitely dressed down in my success! I’ve got a whole closet full of female office staples, but sit here in a fleece hoodie and capris. My clients care only about quality copy and hard deadlines, and that’s where my focus is!

Want a free copy of “Undress for Success”? Simply leave a comment ON ANY POST in this blog, telling me why you want it!

    1) An impartial observer will pick a random number to choose the winner. (His name is Husband)

    2) I will pay for media mail shipping.

3 Of course, you’d have to give me a mailing addy.

    THANKS FOR VISITING:)

Sounds great! I’m thinking about making the transition to full-time freelancing and working from home. Thanks for offering up this resource.

  2. Krysten says:

The best part about freelancing is working in sweatpants! Sounds like a great book 😉

OOPS: ETA: Deadline is Thur night, draw is Friday.

  4. Annette Fix says:

In your PG thread, did you say something about taxes and time management? Hmmm…what a novel concept. Sounds like something I could use.

  5. Oh, Allena, I need this book! I want my husband to read the clothing chapter so he’ll recognize my work attire (pj’s and robe) as the dress-for-success uniform that it is!

  6. Petula says:

Why do I want it? Well, besides the fact that I’m a bookaholic it’s always great to have other resources to support and help with what I’m doing. I hope I win ’cause I can’t wait to read it.

  7. Ginny says:

Thanks for the opportunity, Allena. Why do I want this book? Because I am in a bit of a rut, or perhaps burning/burned out. I need some inspiration from moms who’ve blazed the trail successfully.

  8. Christie says:

This book sounds great – since I do both writing and design, I’m sure I’d get a lot of tips from it.
Thanks for posting this link and encouraging us to visit your blog – I’ve visited it before, and visiting it again today reminded me why I liked it the first time! 🙂

I was just thinking as a I read this post, the title of the book, and some of these comments that we actually SAVE money by undressing for success. I’m sure this is no novel concept, but we don’t have to have a ton of nice outfits. WE can actually have 2 or 3 as long as we don’t always see the same people when we go out of the house. 😉 But don’t let my husband see this–I was just complaining the other day about my summer wardrobe and how I needed to go shopping. Thanks for the opporunity, Allena!
