• A Must See Video

The partners at the Berry Brewer Freelance Agency posted an incredible video showing highlights of their first year. It’s at  http://www.sparkplugging.com/freelance-parent/berry-brewer-freelance-agency-year-one/ .

    GWP Update:

I don’t know about your state, but Michigan’s law doesn’t allow school to begin until after the Labor Day Weekend. Originally I supported said law, mainly because my marriage anniversary is August 31, and we generally try to get away (this year we’re going to a wine region near Lake Michigan for a couple days). It also didn’t affect me as a cubefarm worker, as my children were generally in childcare.

However, this summer I figured they were old enough to have around while I tried to write over the summer, and boy, was I ever wrong. Oh well, live and learn. Next summer something will hve to be done.

But, for now, I don’t think any mother in Michigan is counting down like I am! Once September 2 rolls around, GWP will revert back to full time hours, and I will be actively seeking new contracts again. I’m also focusing more on editing and print media.

When do children head back in your state? I bet some of you can already brag empty houses.

School started here in my rural community back on August 14th. While it’s nice to get back to the routine of school, that just feels too early. I think a lot of the earlier date stemmed from the late release date we had last year. Because of the size of our bus routes (lots of kids are on the bus at 6:30 in the morning) almost any snow results in a snow day.

Oh man, I think that might be TOO early too!
